Flair 58 is the ultimate manual espresso maker as many expert and enthusiast say. However, there is a bit of confusion with all the releases of that great machine - what exactly is the difference and how major are the changes.
And, most importantly, which makes the best espresso?
The short answer is - the espresso quality is top level with all them.
Lets list what else they all have in common:
  • they feature the same 58mm brew head.
  • they come with a professional-grade portafilter.
  • they include a heated brewing cylinder, ensuring excellent thermostability.
  • they are constructed with high-quality materials for durability.
  • they offer unparalleled ease of maintenance and cleaning.
These shared features encompass everything one might be interested in, right?
Now comes the exciting part - let's explore the differences between the various modifications.
Flair 58 v.2 was released for sale in 2022. It came equipped with an improved piston and piston holder. While there were a few occasional complaints about the piston fixing, the issues were quite rare, and overall, the experience is very convincing. However, in 2023 (v.3), the piston was further enhanced to avoid these minor inconveniences.
Another improved component is the controller of the heating element. It now signals if the power switches off and on again. Additionally, the connector of the heating element to the brew head has been enhanced and boasts a more aesthetically pleasing design. Most importantly, the heating element is now integrated into all the brew heads, allowing the Flair 58 to be delivered as non-electric and easily upgraded later on.

The last difference is the inclusion of a magnetic plate for the new shot mirror, which is integrated into the base. The new mirror is a delightful addition, offering the pleasure of observing your espresso as it flows out of the naked portafilter.
Apart from these changes, v.3 comes with the same accessories included in the box as v.2. This continuity makes sense as the "old" Flair 58 is already an exceptional machine.

Flair 58+ vs Flair 58 v.3:
Essentially, the Flair 58+ is the same machine as the Flair 58 v.3 but takes the experience even further by adding some appealing accessories. Most notably, the Flair 58+ is a stylish piece of equipment that would enhance the aesthetic of any kitchen. It features dark wood handles (walnut), all black screws, and a black manometer face. Additionally, the box includes a palm tamper made of the same wood and a shot mirror. Furthermore, in addition to the standard low-flow portafilter basket found in the Flair 58, the Flair 58+ also includes a high-flow basket that allows for shots even closer to those produced by classic professional espresso machines.
To conclude, regardless of which modification of the Flair 58 you choose, you will be amazed by the results in your cup and inspired by the possibilities for experimenting with your extraction.
